Message Well said. I have been battling with this for a while now and it seems that every motor is just not lasting long at all. Obviously the better the shop, the longer it will last. This is my primary reason I keep my motor stock internally. If I spend $6-10k, I want to be sure the motor with the right tune is not going to be sacrificed.
